Knebworth House – it’s an iconic venue for music lovers across the Globe. From the likes of Queen and the Rolling Stones to Robbie Williams and Little Mix, Knebworth House has seen a vast number of people come and go over the years and they are constantly looking to innovate their offerings to keep enticing new visitors and generations and keep the history alive. For their latest project, the team at Knebworth approached us looking for an exciting way to engage visitors with the rich history of the heritage site and a way to help promote the re-opening of their famous Watchman’s Tower.
Together, we created a virtual reality time machine app that allows users to view a panoramic 360 scene of the Knebworth estate from the view of the Watchman throughout five time periods: Saxon, Norman, Tudor, Victorian and Modern.
Users can also select a range of interactive hot spots around the scenes to learn more about the house, Church and hills that surround – these also contain rare photos, drawings and facts straight from Knebworth’s archives.
The app is free to download on any personal device when on site (the app is geo fenced to only allow visitors at the house to gain exclusive access) or the experience can be used on one of the on site installations at the top of the tower.
