Carlton Books
Delve into deep space using the power of Augmented Reality. Our project with Carlton Books is making it possible to explore the solar system and beyond right from the comfort of your home.
Augmented Reality can be a powerful tool when it comes to education. Concepts that would previously only be able to be described or shown in photos and videos can now be visualised as if they are right in front of you. This is why content creators and education providers alike are eager to explore the potential of AR and be more imaginative in the way they interact with their audiences.
When we heard that Carlton Books wanted our help with their new Digital Magic series (a collection of educational, interactive children’s books) we were pretty excited. We were tasked with creating a series of AR interactions for their iExplore: Into Deep Space publication that takes users on a journey through our solar system and beyond, exploring planets, stars, satellites, nebulae and more.
What we created was a smart device app that, when used in conjunction with various pages throughout the book would trigger stunning 3D representations of content related to that page. We also gave users the ability to interact with the 3D content to find out more information and created a 360 deep space VR journey.
